Chalk Ridge Parent Teacher Association
The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) forms a very important part of the school's structure. It provides a great deal of support and without it, there are many facilities at the school that would not be as well equipped as they currently are! Their events and fundraising efforts are greatly appreciated by the Pupils, Staff and Governors.
The aim of the PTA is to advance the education of pupils in the School, in particular by:
- Developing effective relationships between the staff parents and others associated with the School;
- Engaging in activities or providing facilities or equipment which support the School and advance the education of the pupils;
We do this by organising various events throughout the school year for the benefit of both parents and pupils. These range from discos to BBQ’s and of course the annual Christmas and Summer Fayres.
Over the years the PTA has donated £000’s. In the academic year 2004/2005 we donated a staggering £5000 to help the school in its activities. In previous years we have help to buy equipment for the music department, the IT department as well as aid the school in providing a puppeteer group to perform every year. This year the money will be spent helping to upgrade and generate quite areas around the school.
Last year we were able to gain charity status for the PTA and this will help us with our fundraising.
The PTA is always looking for more parents/guardians to help either on the committee or in setting up, running, or packing away after events. Our AGM is held in September and anyone interested in putting their name forward should approach Reception at the school and they will put you in touch with a current member.
